ABRIC Berhad had its beginnings in 1983 as a manufacturer of security seals for the transport of palm oil and latex. Its patented design became a global industry standard, and use of ABRIC’s seals soon spread across a range of industrial sectors. ABRIC was incorporated as a private limited company in 1989 and then converted to a public limited company in 1997. ABRIC was listed on Bursa Malaysia on the 11th of January 1999.
By 2007, ABRIC’s workforce had grown to 800 employees spread over five countries across three continents, with its products present in more than 80 countries. The company’s state-of-the-art facilities in Malaysia, Thailand and China had the capacity to produce more than a billion seals a year and ranked within the top five providers of security sealing solutions in the world.
In 2014, ABRIC sold its core business of production, turning it into a cash rich shell company and was later delisted in 2016. In 2018, ABRIC’s founder and Chairman, Dato Albert Ong, turned the company’s attention towards education, with the intent of making high quality and international learning affordable. Orbix Education's first school opened in Muar in August 2018, followed by its Batu Pahat campus in 2020. In 2021, Orbix International School opened its third campus in South Klang. In August 2020, ABRIC expanded its company portfolio with a new subsidiary: Senta Academy, which specialises in corporate training complete with adventure camp facilities perfect for team building exercises. The group's latest endeavour is in artificial intelligence, with AI Academy offering a comprehensive AI syllabus in South East Asia for students aged six and up.
Orbix Education Group
Orbix International Schools aims to serve the larger community by offering high quality, holistic education at accessible prices. All three campuses (in Muar, Batu Pahat and Klang) will incorporate the Cambridge IGCSE with the national curriculum, and employ the Singapore Maths Syllabus. English is the primary mode of instruction supplemented by Mandarin as an aid. Lessons in artificial intelligence at AI Academy will also be offered to all Orbix students as an extracurricular activity, with the aim of preparing students for a technology-driven future.

It offers the region's first comprehensive AI syllabus, designed in collaboration with Chinese giant iFLYTEK.
